Chepelare opens the new skiing season on 16 December 2011 BulgariaSki.com, 14.12.2011 All keen skiers are invited to celebrate the official opening party on Mechi chal ski centre. The half day lift pass will be valid for a full day on the slopes on Saturday and sunday 17th and 18th December. The official program of the opening ceremony starts at 01.00 OM with a hearty welcome at the Ski centre Mechi chal. All guests will have the chance to try hot wine and take a photo with the bears - symbols of the resort. A shooting competition with Ekaterina Dafovska and a parallel slalom will entertain guests and residents of the resort. The ski lift will operate for free on 16 December 2012. The resort has also prepared an exhibition of historical artifacts from the communist time, as well as a special Christmas decoration competition. The by the end of the day the sky over Chepelare will be illuminated with festive fireworks.
