The spiritual-historical centre “St. Paisiy of Hilendar” will open its doors in the autumn in Bansko. Sanctification probably will be on 5th October, when is the Day of the resort. Monks from the Monastery of Zograf are also expected, said the mayor Alexander Kravarov. At the centre of the town is restored the “St. Ivan Rilski” chapel and the monk cell in the Monastery of Hilendar where Paisiy lived. Paisiy, who were born in Bansko, is the first man of the Bulgarian Revival. He wrote “History Slavic-Bulgarian” in 1760 which inspired the thought of rejecting the Ottoman Rule. The modest interior includes a table, a pen, a chair and authentic manuscripts dated XVIII - XIX century. The town is proud that a copy of the place where Paisiy lived and wrote already exists. At the second floor is the chapel with lovely frescoes and icons – replica of those in the Monastery oh Hilendar. There is also an authentic candlestick.
