Sent on 25 February 2009The best choice. New, well designed, modern hotel. Quite small what gives a special charm – in a couple of days staff recognize you and treat you as a special guest. Just perfect location- one step out of hotel and you are at the lifts. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and would say professional – mention this because it’s very rear in Bulgaria to find a proper service. The food was the best in area. -

We booked 2 apartments. One was excellent but in comparison to previous apartments we have stayed at her, the 2 bed apartment was lacking in some basic items. One mug from what should have been a set of 6 (there were 6 expresso cups, with saucers, of the same pattern) meant we had to go and buy some ourselves to enjoy a drink. No toaster made it difficult making breakfast as either the grill or oven could be on but not both. A small stool at either dressing table would have been an advantage. No sofa in the main living area was a big disadvantage, if you wanted to relax the only place was in a bedroom. No good either if someone wanted a lie in and another was up and about, the only place to sit was at the table, not very relaxing! These may seem to be minor things but they detracted from what was a good holiday. We would stop here again but feel there needs to be a basic level of items provided in each apartment to prevent unnecessary disappointment.
I would like to add that the ladies who cleaned the apartments were excellent, really nice people!
For us the beds were comfortable but we would have enjoyed stop sheets and additional covers. The radiated heat kept the room much hotter than we are used to but we just opened the doors and windows and took in the fresh air. It would be beneficial to have a better ski equipment storage area. It was difficult for us not speaking Bulgarian and most of the employees not speaking English but we really liked the apartment size and location. It was an excellent find for us and we will likely come back to Borovets and choose to stay at Royal Plaza.
